To market to market…

If you’re not in Sydney at the World Chef showcase and in the Canberra (or surrounding area) like I am, there is lots to do this weekend!

Between Floriade/nightfest, Handmade market, Hall markets, Kingston markets, Farmer’s market, Southside Farmer’s market and the 2011 Murrumbateman Moving Feast, there’ll be lots to keep you entertained and your palette happy.

Some ‘must see’ stalls:

Montrose Berry Farm’ This is the first I’ve seen this brand but I tasted their ‘vanilla bean and pear jam’ and it is divine! Will keep my eye out for them and maybe even try one of their raspberry tarts tomorrow? Currently here in Canberra for the Handmade markets.

Curious Chocolatier‘ where they have 11 fabulous flavours of macarons which are surperb (yes I bought all 11 flavours from the Handmade market). They also have an amazing range of chocolate bars with gorgeous artwork on them which are available @ the Kingston markets.

Laurel Brae Olive Estate‘ fabulous local olive oil that is great for cooking or even just dipping with fresh bread. Yes I would travel across Canberra just to get this olive oil! Available @ the Hall markets.

Black Horse‘ DEEEEEEEEEEEELICIOUS jam (my favourite- plum and cinnamon!) a must for scones! And even delicious on toast. Available @ Hall markets, 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month @ Kingston Old Bus Depot Markets, 3rd Sunday each month @ Southside Farmer’s Market.

Kurrajong Country Beef Wellington NSW‘ Ok, I’ve eaten a lot of steak in my time and this definitely rates high on my list. I’ve stopped eating steak @ restaurants now because this is so good. Scotch filllet + salt + pepper + cooked medium rare= orgasmic! Trying out their aged porterhouse steak, hope it’s just as good! Available @ Farmer’s Market and Southside Farmer’s Market.

Dream Cuisine‘ I love following this brand like a groupie, currently supplying to several cute cafes (inc. Farmer’s daughter), @ the Farmer’s Market and the Southside Farmer’s market. Love Love Love their salted caramel macaron and raspberry macaron!

Honey Donut Puffs‘ I only see these guys once a year and it’s only at Floriade/nightfest. Grab a cup of warm honey donuts with cinnamon sugar. YUM!

Lindsay & Edmunds‘ Handmade organic chocolate. Very delicious and also showcases some unusual flavours such as pineapple paw paw and pepita in belgian white chocolate. I their chocolate bears on a stick. Available almost everywhere, Handmade, Farmer’s Market, Delicatessens @ the Fyshwick market.
