Gold Coast – A raw start to the New Year

We were off to start the new year with a good brunch at the very scenic Sanctuary Cove. Very few things were opened but Raw was there with open dining and a fresh looking menu.

Beverages 

Bircher Muesli creamy organic oats soaked in organic apple juice topped with fresh seasonal fruit. Served with Barambah Organic Yoghurt, crunchy almond & coconut and a side of our home made berry compote ($15.50).

The Lot – Homemade rosti potato hash, two free range eggs cooked your way, double smoked bacon, salciccia (pork & beef sausage), garlic & thyme roasted mushrooms, roasted vine ripened tomato and Spanish baked beans topped with truffle hollandaise sauce and served with toasted ciabatta bread ($21.50). We had to remind them that this was supposed to be serve with bread.

Eggs Benedict – two poached free range eggs on toasted sourdough with truffle hollandaise and smoked bacon ($18.50). Perfect eggs topped with a delicious hollandaise sauce.

Avocado & Ricotta – two pieces of toasted sourdough topped with avocado, fresh La Vera ricotta and a drizzle of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil ($15.50). This had an ample serving of ricotta despite the fact that the waitress spilt a big dollop over me. The olive oil was the star of the board, it was simple, elegant and light- the perfect breakfast.

Rosti potato hash ($4.50). I really wanted to try their potato hash but it lacked flavour and crispiness.
