Head straight to the information desk in Young and grab a cherry picking map and ask which ‘pick your own cherries’ farms are open.
The season is a bit late because of the previous weather and I found a lot of places had unripe cherries which were very sour. I picked some cherries at ballinaclash and main range orchard. We were also going to check out hill lock orchard which also do pick your own strawberries but they had a weird sign saying each person had to pick a minimum of 2.5kg/person or they would be charged a $10 entrance fee.
I would have loved to gone to more orchards but we ran out of time. I just bought myself a box in the end to bulk up what I had picked.
